Beachday Rewards Launch in Jacksonville Beach: Earn Shells and Redeem Real-World Rewards

Beachday® Treats are officially live.

This weekend, Beachday launched its first real-world rewards partnership in the Jacksonville Beaches with Lemon Bar in Neptune Beach, Florida, giving Beachday users a new way to turn the Shells they earn inside the app into real-life rewards.

Starting August 22, 2026, Beachday users can redeem Shells at Lemon Bar for 10% off purchases of $20 or more, marking the first step in Beachday’s growing beach rewards program.

And for our first partner, it was hard to imagine a better fit.

Sitting just steps from the ocean in Neptune Beach, Lemon Bar is built around the kind of day Beachday is all about: beach, frozen drinks, food, music, friends and a place to stay through sunset.

For us, this launch was about more than adding a discount to the app. It was about beginning to connect the digital beach community we’re building with the real places that make beach culture special.

What Are Beachday Rewards?

Beachday Treats is a real-world rewards program built directly into the Beachday app.

Beachday helps people discover beaches, check community updates, share photos, post reviews and see what conditions are like before they make the trip.

Users can earn Shells by contributing to the Beachday community. Those Shells can now unlock rewards at participating beachside businesses.

That means the value created inside the Beachday community can start extending into the real world — at restaurants, cafés, surf shops, hotels, rentals and other businesses near the beach.

Why Lemon Bar Was the Perfect First Partner

For our first Beachday Rewards partnership, we headed to the Jacksonville Beaches and partnered with Lemon Bar, the oceanfront bar and restaurant at the Seahorse Oceanfront Inn in Neptune Beach.

Lemon Bar has become a staple of the Jacksonville Beaches experience.

It’s the kind of place where you can walk over from the beach, grab a frozen drink, get something to eat, listen to music and stay through sunset without feeling like your beach day has ended.

That made the partnership feel incredibly natural.

Beachday is built around helping people have better beach days, and Lemon Bar already plays a role in extending that experience beyond the shoreline.

Why Lemon Bar Is Helping Push Beach Culture Forward

What makes Lemon Bar especially important to this launch is their willingness to try something new.

They didn’t simply join an established rewards program. They agreed to be the first business to test the concept with us, work through the redemption process and help introduce a new kind of connection between a beach app and a local beachside business.

That willingness to experiment matters.

Lemon Bar is already deeply connected to the Jacksonville Beaches lifestyle, and by becoming Beachday’s first partner, they’re also supporting a new way for local businesses and beachgoers to interact.

For us, that is what innovation in beach culture can look like: taking something people already love about a local place and finding new ways to make it even more connected to the community around it.

Launching With the Lemon Bar Team

One of the best parts of the weekend was getting to work directly with the Lemon Bar team.

Launching a real-world feature is very different from simply pushing an app update. There are redemptions to test, staff to walk through the process with, customers to introduce to the concept and details that only become clear once the system is being used in person.

We spent time at Lemon Bar testing the experience, filming content, explaining the program and preparing for the first live redemptions.

That hands-on collaboration helped turn Beachday Rewards from something we had built into something people could actually use.

Bringing the Jacksonville Beach Community Together

We didn’t want the first Beachday Rewards launch to happen quietly.

We spent the weekend across Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Lemon Bar filming, meeting Beachday users, working with local creators and showing people how the new rewards program works.

Then came the lemons.

As part of the launch, we invited members of the local community to meet us at Lemon Bar, bring a lemon and take part in the event.

Guests could enter a raffle, meet the Beachday team and be part of the first weekend of Beachday Rewards.

With the ocean just steps away, Lemon Bar gave the launch exactly the atmosphere we wanted: local, social, fun and completely connected to beach culture.

How a Beachday Reward Works

Using a Beachday Reward is designed to be simple.

When a user is at a participating business, they can open Beachday, select the available reward and activate the redemption.

The active reward is then shown to a staff member for confirmation.

At Lemon Bar, eligible Beachday users can redeem their Shells for 10% off a purchase of $20 or more once per week, subject to the offer terms shown in the app.

It’s a simple interaction, but it represents an important shift for Beachday: Shells now have a place in the real-world beach experience.

Why Beachday Is Building a Beach Rewards Program

Beach communities already run on local knowledge.

People want to know:

  • Is the water clear?
  • Is there seaweed?
  • Is the beach crowded?
  • What’s the vibe?
  • Where should we go afterward?
  • Is the beach worth the drive today?

Beachday is built to make those questions easier to answer.

Rewards add another layer to that experience.

They give Beachday users something tangible in return for participating while also creating a way for local businesses to connect with people who are already spending time in the area.

That is the model we want to continue building: a stronger connection between beachgoers, local businesses and the communities around the beach.

Why Jacksonville Beach Was the Right Place to Start

The Jacksonville Beaches,  including Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach, have exactly the type of local ecosystem we imagine Beachday Rewards growing within.

There are restaurants, bars, hotels, surf businesses, rentals and local destinations all closely tied to life around the ocean.

That creates an opportunity for Beachday to become useful before, during and after someone goes to the beach.

You might use Beachday to check conditions in the morning, decide where to go, spend the day by the ocean and then discover a participating local business afterward.

That broader beach-day journey is where we see Beachday heading.

Helping Beach Businesses Reach Beachgoers

Beachday Rewards isn’t only about discounts.

It’s also about discovery.

Someone might know exactly which beach they want to visit but have no idea where to eat afterward. Someone else might be looking for a surf rental, hotel, coffee shop, wellness experience or sunset spot nearby.

By connecting participating businesses with Beachday users, we want Beachday to become a bridge between the beach itself and the places surrounding it.

Lemon Bar is our first example of what that can look like: a strong local business, a beach-focused audience and a reward that gives people another reason to discover the venue.

More Beachday Rewards Are Coming

Lemon Bar is partner number one, but the bigger vision goes much further.

We want to bring Beachday Rewards to more beach communities and more types of local businesses, including:

  • Beach restaurants and bars
  • Coffee shops
  • Surf shops
  • Beach rentals
  • Hotels and resorts
  • Wellness businesses
  • Local experiences
  • Other beachside businesses

Over time, we want Beachday to become part of the entire beach-day journey.

Discover the beach.

Check the conditions.

Share an update.

Earn Shells.

Visit a local business.

Redeem a reward.

Then do it all again on your next beach day.

The Beginning of Beachday Rewards

Seeing the first Beachday Reward redeemed at Lemon Bar was a small moment on a screen, but it represented something much bigger for us.

Beachday started with a simple idea: make it easier for people to know what a beach is actually like before they go.

Beachday Rewards expands that idea beyond the shoreline.

We’re incredibly grateful to the Lemon Bar team for being willing to become the first business to help us bring that vision into the real world.

There will be more beaches, more rewards and more partners.

But there will only ever be one first.

And that will always be Lemon Bar.
